Your destination offers so much more than just a few highlights

It's up to you: Digitize EVERYTHING. Then you will find enough destinations in your database to distribute the guests to. Many destinations are only interesting at second glance and are definitely on par with the well-known spots. Often, a certain operational blindness has set in in the destinations, because in the advertising you always only deal with your top offers. Also, the internal view of locals is often different from that of guests, so it makes a lot of sense to also involve the local population in the digitization process. With better distribution, you also create more equity within your top performers by getting more visitors from the normally less frequented providers as well. 

Specialize your approach

Of course, it's always easy to steer guests in one direction with great offers for everyone and a few great images. Where that works, there's really nothing to do. But on closer inspection, you can do much better for the benefit of everyone involved. In many destinations, the different personas already exist in marketing. Thinking further, it is quite easy to offer different destinations to different target groups, because some things are more suitable for families with young children than for families with teenagers. And some destinations are better suited for seniors than for the athletically active. This specialization can be further refined in any direction, into offerings for the disabled, seniors, for the athletically active, the culturally interested, English speakers, Asians, etc.   

Steer actively with actions

Free beer or half-price attractions are always a hit, but these means of visitor guidance are not available all the time and over a wide area. That is why we have created the possibility of digital rewards: POI Challenges. This allows you to define a list of destinations that a guest should visit. The whole thing works like a digital scavenger hunt based on the GPS position of the smartphone. When a point on the list is reached, it is marked as "I was there". When all destinations are reached, the guest receives a notification and can also participate in a raffle, for example, as desired. With the tool you can direct the visitors very well, e.g.: These are the 10 destinations for your vacation in the fall. By the way, digital guest profiles are also collected.
